The “Over Easy”

Supervisor Training

I AM

a Supervisor

Training

This programme is aimed at staff who have either recently been promoted into a supervisory role or are ready to take one on in the near future. This is a foundational programme and it addresses (potential) supervisors in all areas of hospitality operations.

At the end of the program, participants will –

LEAD MYSELF

  • Have developed a Service Mantra
  • Have drafted their Leadership Vision
  • Have gained understanding of their own well-being as being a foundation for Service and Leadership Excellence

LEAD OTHERS

  • Be aware of the significance of the element of Trust – and how to create it
  • Be intentional about their communication: verbal and non-verbal
  • Conduct effective and meaningful Daily Briefings, 1 on 1‘s, Meetings
  • Be able to develop & implement schedules, checklists, staff trainings and other operational tasks
Our frontline supervisors.
They execute our strategies. They are there for our staff. They hear our guests.
Yet – how well are they trained and prepared to do the job that is crucial for the success of our organisation?
Many of us started their leadership journey in the hospitality business as a supervisor with the classic training: „swim or sink“ – despite the fact that on this job, „sinking“ always brings along significant collateral damage along the lines of staff and guests.
Investing in a profound and practical training of (future) supervisors on the other hand, always brings forth significant dividends – in quality of service, staff retention and guest happiness

Methodology

TIMELESS

Since the beginning of time, humans have been taught and learnt through stories and story-telling. We are reconnecting to this approach by underlying a classical hero‘s story to the programme: an inexperienced but highly engaged individual finds himself in a pre-opening situation in which he is challenged to learn how to build trust with the team, set up an effective operation and successfully launch the opening event. Along this journey, he observes and interacts with staff and senior leaders, and converts these experiences into his very own learning journey. Participants will see aspects of their own development in this young hero‘s journey and then be better at connecting the theoretical learning with their work-life challenges.

TIMELY

The main string of this program is a series of webinars, based on the latest in adult and distance learning and delivered „live online“ for meaningful interactions. Self-reflection, theoretical input and group work make the learning personal and practical. Specific implementation activities serve to make the content „stick“:

  • Pre-work, Participant Manual and Action Plan
  • Mentor support, including Mentors‘ Guide
  • „Micro-Learning“ App for short, quick and on-the-spot refreshers as well as Deep Dives into specific programme topics
  • „Mo‘s Journey“ – the hero‘s story as an accompanying booklet

Note:
there will be a female version of the hero for female participants
